For safety reasons, Dean recently had fencing erected limiting access to the parts of the campus near the on-going construction of the new Performing Arts Center.  Dean administration moved the location of this year's Festival away from the vicinity of all the construction work.

Benefits the Dean College Children's Center

The annual Children’s Festival conducted by the great folks at the Dean College Children’s Center is well worth a visit.  The Festival benefits the wonderful early childhood education program conducted at the Childrens' Center located on School Street.



Lots of fun for the little ones

The Festival held each spring on the Dean College campus in Franklin, MA is perfect for young children. 

The games and activities are especially designed for little ones.   Parents and caregivers have a great time watching the kids have fun. 

This year there will be live farm animals to visit with, moonwalks, fun crafts and easy games to play.

Refreshments will be available for purchase. 

 Fun raffle of gift baskets

A highlight each year is the raffle of gift baskets; there are some very creative and fun baskets each year!

 Admission is free.  Tickets for activities are sold at the Festival.

The Dean College campus lends stability, character and history to Franklin’s downtown area.

There are approximately 1,000 full-time and 500 part-time students in attendance at Dean each academic year.   The student population is augmented by Dean's faculty and staff.  Together, they form an important economic base supporting the shops, resturants and service business located in Downtown Franklin.



Dean College students add a lot of life and activity to Franklin, MA.  It brings back some nice college-years memories for me seeing Dean students walking to and from classes.  And seeing parents and prospective Dean students tour the campus and town each year during "Get to Know Dean Days" has become an annual rite of passage for me.

Dean College runs the Children’s Center as part of the college’s Early Childhood Education Department. Dean's Early Education program students teach at the center along with the program’s faculty and center staff.

The Children’s Center serves children aged 2.9 to 6 years.



They also have an annual spring children’s festival – lots of fun and food!

Dean’s robust Performing Arts Department is an important asset to the Franklin, MA community.  



Via the Performing Arts Department, the College offers both A.A. and B.A. degrees in Dance, and A.A. degrees in Theatre Arts, Communication Arts, and Musical Theatre.  There also is a 4 year program leading to a B.A. degree in Arts Management. Dean’s School of Dance is allied with New York’s celebrated Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.  Dance classes are taught in one of four dance studios at Dean.
