Franklin, MA’s Hockomock Area YMCA recently released its program guide for spring 2010. With almost 80 pages of programs and activities, the guide has offerings for all ages and fitness levels.

It can be a blessing to have some place for the kids to go for a few hours every week.

The YMCA in Franklin, Massachusetts provides a safe, local and truly beneficial place for children to learn and burn off excess energy. My 10 year old has loved going there since he was about 4 years old. He learned how to swim at the YMCA.

Franklin, MA is very fortunate to have a thriving branch of the YMCA located in town in a modern, spacious facility.

The YMCA in Franklin, MA has pretty much what you’d want in terms of physical plant: both indoor and outdoor pools, an indoor running track, indoor basketball courts, weight training room and gym. The dressing areas are clean and nicely appointed.

The YMCA in Franklin, MA has a lots of programs for children: a respected child care program, a comprehensive summer camp, basketball classes for the kids in winter months, and also many dance classes and a robust gymnastics program. The swimming training programs for children of all ages and skill levels in the indoor pool are very popular.

For adults, the Y’s health and fitness programs afford many opportunities to get in shape and forge friendships. Classes include yoga, pilates, high- and-low-impact aerobics, kickboxing, and more!

Adirondack Club, Franklin, MA

The Adirondack Club in Franklin, MA opened in 1999, so the facilities are modern and appealing. The club boasts an 8,000 square foot workout area, eight tennis courts and two indoor pools.

The club’s child care center enables parents of young children to enjoy full use of facilities while little ones stay safe and occupied. There’s also a popular summer camp for children.

Recently, a tennis center opened at the club; the 8 indoor courts allow team and league play in addition to instruction and recreational tennis. There are memberships available just for tennis.

The Aquatic Center at the Adirondack Club in Franklin, MA uses heated fabric dome to allow full-year use of a lap pool and a recreational pool. Year-round swimming instruction is also available.

The Franklin Rod and Gun Club offers free to the public the opportunity for boating and fishing on Uncas Pond in Franklin, MA.

The Franklin Rod and Gun Club in Franklin, MA stocks the 25 acre Uncas Pond with fish and allows pond access and fishing rights to the public at no charge.
The club maintains a boat launch and dock on the pond and also has a fishing beach; these are open to use by the public.
