Since the 2001 bubble burst, that rush has disappeared. Now, on most days, drivers can get a spot for the train leaving Franklin/Dean at 7:07 AM. Since the parking rates were doubled (from $2 to $4 per day) beginning Nov 2008, the number of drivers has declined and the number of drop-offs and walkers has increased. The next change to be concerned with will be the proposed downtown reconstruction and a return to 2-way traffic. How it will effect drivers attempting to get out of the downtown station remains to be seen. If a left turn is allowed between Acapulco's and Dean Bank, the drivers will be buried in the parking lot for much longer than the time it takes to get out of the lot today.
